The Center for Wooden Boats
(Seattle, WA 2010)

This is an outdoor work area where craftsmen give demonstrations.

There are a couple of buildings at the Center.  The one shown here is a museum with lots of interesting photographs, books and artifacts.  The other building (not shown) is a workshop on the water.

Floating artwork

You can rent these vintage wood boats and cruise around Lake Union in Seattle.  They have rowboats, power boats and sailboats.

Another beauty.  Museum in background.

This is the view looking north over Lake Union from the top floor of the museum.

The building behind this classic boat is the floating workshop.

This old steamer with a surrey on top caught my attention.  Boiler, steam engine, gauges, and that little wheel.  Almost expect to see Bogey and Hepburn in the cockpit.
